Hello and welcome to my site! In my research and instructional design activities, I seek to systematically investigate the intersection of social psychology and instructional technologies. Specifically, I seek to understand how instructional technologies differentially and dynamically interact with the social psychological processes underlying teaching and learning. My main research interests involve examining the ways in which student-to-student relationships and computer-mediated communication affect motivation and achievement in online cooperative learning. While I am immersed in and shaped by technology, I also believe it demands a lot of us socially and emotionally and, when possible, I value disconnecting from time to time. Thus, I cherish those precious few days a year that I’m able to leave my screens at home and climb mountains.
